Prairie in championship game

Prairie du Chien hosted an amateur baseball tournament at the St. Feriole Island Ballpark on June 5-6. 

In game one on Friday evening, Prairie du Chien played Holy Cross. Prairie won 6-4. 

Brandon Heal got the complete game win. 

Kevin Aspenson hit an inside-the-park home run and a triple. 

In game two, Dubuque played Monticello. Dubuque won 8-0. 

In game three, Rikardsville played Dubuque. Rikardsville won 4-0. The Rikardsville pitcher threw a no hitter. 

In game four, Holy Cross played Monticello. Monticello won 3-2 with a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh. 

In game five, Dubuque played Monticello. Monticello won 7-2. 

In game six, the championship game, Prairie du Chien played Rikardsville. Rikardsville won 4-2.

Brian McNett of Prairie du Chien had 3 stolen bases. 

The Prairie du Chien roster includes Jimmy Jones, Brett Hogan, Jed Jones, Brent Hartley, Tanner Heisel, Kevin Aspenson, Jeffery “Farkus” Strandlie, Cooper Long, Brendan Jones, Tyler Nack, Casey Hogenson, Brian McNett, and Brandon Heal. The Coach is Joey Renner. 

The Prairie du Chien team and their fans greatly appreciated the efforts of Dan Shickert for announcing and helping out with the field for the weekend.
