L. Marian Bernabei, 93, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Wednesday, April 8, at the Prairie Maison Care Center. 

She was born July 25, 1921 in La Crosse, the daughter of Edward and Mae (Weighner) Bock. She married Louis Bernabei on Jan. 6, 1949 at St. Gabriel’s Church in Prairie du Chien. He preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1990. Marian was an active member of St. Gabriel’s Parish. 

She is survived by her daughters, Joan (William) Kraemer of Willington, Conn. and Maelu (Steve) Fleck of Ridgway, Colo.; her son Louis (Donna) Bernabei of Roscoe, Ill.; her sisters, Annabelle Stubbe and Joan (Lawrence) Novey both of Prairie du Chien; three grandchildren, Daniel, Anna and Maria along with a great grandchild, Olivia. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son Joseph; her brother Edward Bock and a sister Pauline Henry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 14, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Rev. James Weighner officiating with burial in the Calvary Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday, April 14, from 10 a.m. until the time of services. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
