LaVerna Mae Rutledge, 97, of Guttenberg, died Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Visitation was before services at the church.

Funeral services were Tuesday, March 10, at the United Methodist Church, in Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Mike Jackson.

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

LaVerna was born the daughter of the Henry and Mae (Wentworth) Meyers, Dec. 15, 1917, near Millville.

LaVerna received her education at Hunter Country School, Millville, and was a homemaker for many years. She enjoyed gardening and canning. On Aug. 15, 1944, she was united in marriage with Loran Rutledge in Dubuque.

Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Vicki (Brayer) Amble of La Crosse Wis.; one son, Larkin (Bernita) Rutledge of Guttenberg; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers and one sister.
