Mike Doll was born on Sept. 29, 1948 and went home to Heaven on Feb. 24, 2015.

My Dad is not defined by the day of his death or the day of his birth, but by the life that he lived. My Dad was saved out of the Catholic church as a young college student who began to read his Bible and decided to take God’s Word over man’s. My Dad was saved after reading John 1:12 and chose to believe on Jesus Christ alone to be called a son of God.

Dad married Mom, and for 42 years they lived a fairy-tale marriage, to which their children will attest. Mom still calls Dad her Prince Charming. My Dad was a father who chose family over career, though he still worked successfully at DH Satellite for 44 years, and ran that division of the company well.

Dad gave his children the privilege of knowing him by being a huge part of their lives. My Dad was his three kid’s hero, and remains so even now. He was a best friend to his wife, his kids, his five grandkids, and to a number of others as well. My Dad did not just choose to trust Christ but chose to also follow Him. He was a pillar of Bible Baptist Church and taught his family by example to follow Christ as well. Dad did not talk about what the church needed to do, he did what the church needed done.

My Dad was also was greatly involved in Prairie Christian Academy and believed strongly in Christian education. My Dad’s life of faith, family, and friendship is a testament to the fact that a man who walks with God will be blessed. Please honor my Dad by not just remembering him but rather by letting his life influence yours for Christ and for right.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 7 at 11 a.m. at Bible Baptist Church. In place of flowers, please send a donation to Prairie Christian Academy’s sports program. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
