David J. Redman, 65, of Prairie du Chien passed away in his sleep Thursday, Feb. 5, at home. 

He was born May 1, 1949 the son of Mearl and Esther (Mindham) Redman. He married Mary Ann Morgan on Aug. 3, 1968 at St John’s Church in Patch Grove. Dave was well known in the area as a beer salesman and deliveryman. He worked for Prairie Beer Distributing in Prairie du Chien for over 30 years. He was an avid hunter and belonged to the Prairie Rod and Gun Club. Dave was very proud of his recent baptism into the catholic faith and his membership at St. John’s Parish. 

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Ann of Prairie du Chien; his daughters, Julie Redman of Prairie du Chien and Jayne (Beau Herbst) Scherer of Platteville; his sisters, Janice (Richard) Eilders of Kankakee, Ill., Mary Ann (Larry) Huff of Luana, Iowa and Sharon (Steve) Osbon of Dodgeville; his grandchildren Sara and Jacob along with a sister-in-law Joyce Loomis of Dubuque, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his daughter Jody Henkes; his son-in-law Dwain Henkes; his grandchildren Austin and Aren Henkes; his parents; his brother Garry Redman and his sister Carol Palmer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, Rev. John Meinholz officiating with burial in the Union Nagle Cemetery, both in Patch Grove. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8, and also on Monday Feb. 9, one hour prior to services at St. John’s Church in Patch Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
