Helen B. Meyer, 91, formerly of Prairie du Chien passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 24, in Sylvia’s Hospice House, Ocala, Fla. 

She was born to Al and Pearl (Fingold) Freeman in Chicago, Ill. She married Dave Meyer, Nov. 7, 1944. Helen was active in and volunteered with many organizations while she lived in Prairie du Chien. She moved back to her hometown of Chicago in 2000 and lived there until relocating to Ocala, Fla., in March 2014, to be closer to family. 

She is survived by her son, Start (Lorna) Meyer, Ocala; her three grandchildren, Rachel (Bobby) Bassett, Crawfordville, Fla., Hannah (Keith) Greenberg, Ocala, and Aaron (Kim Tucker) Meyer, Eatonton, Ga; her great- grandchildren, Asher, Taly, and Isaac Greenberg, Ricky Bassett; and her brother, Jay Freeman, California; a niece and two nephews. She’s also survived by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave in 1988; and her sister, Joy in 2013. Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Mitzvah Memorial Funerals.
