Prairie du Chien hosted Dodgeville-Mineral Point in a gymnastics meet at Bluff View Intermediate School Monday night. Dodgeville-Mineral Point won the meet 114.775-87.100. It was Senior Night for Prairie du Chien.

Jesse Gutknecht scored 4.45 on bars to earn fourth place on the bars.

Paige Severson scored 5.35 on bars to earn third place on bars and scored 7.5 on vault for fifth place.

Morgan Pedretti scored 6.95 on floor to earn fifth place and scored 7.4 on vault for sixth place.

It was an emotional night for the girls, celebrating senior night with Morgan.

“Morgan you will be missed next year,” the rest of the team said.

Coach Amber Narvaez said, “Morgan, you always make us smile with that quirky little grin you have and you are always willing to help whoever needs it.”

Regarding her “shining moment” in high school sports, Morgan said, “My shining moment would have to be having Amber as my coach my junior and senior years. I’m thankful she continuously pushes me to try new things and has helped me to become a better gymnast. I couldn’t do it without her and my wonderful teammates.”

When asked if she has any advice for her teammates, Morgan replied, “Enjoy the time you have because it goes by quickly. Keep working hard and doing your best. I’ve enjoyed watching you all improve and I can’t wait to see how our season goes. I couldn’t ask for a better group of girls to spend my last season with.  Keep working hard and trying new things. You all make me Proud!”

Morgan is planning on going to Viterbo University next year and majoring in nursing.

The girls travel to Viroqua Friday night. Everyone is invited to come and cheer them on.
