Bulldog boys golf team now 6-0

Sawyer Keehner finished last week's meet against NFV with a 46.

Quinn McGeough and the Bulldogs won two more meets last week, to stay undefeated.

Nick Krambeer was the meet runner up against Turkey Valley, then tied for third versus NFV.

Central girls track and field continues upward trajectory with eyes on state

Lexi Loan and Central’s shuttle hurdle relay team took fourth in the Waukon meet.

Brooke Tieden represented Central in the long jump at Waukon.

MFL MarMac girls take down Trojans, tie with TigerHawks

Miranda Lang was the meet runner up against Turkey Valley, then took medalist honors in the tie with NFV.

Mackenzie Bachman shot a 66 in the April 28 tie with NFV.

Lauren Haberichter shot a 74 at Turkey Valley, but lowered her score to a 56 on MFL MarMac's home course.

Clare Grau makes a putt in the Bulldogs' April 28 meet against the TigerHawks.

Mallory Lang and the MFL MarMac girls tied with NFV in a meet at Tri City Golf Course.

Luke Baade

Luke Baade, 32, of Elkader, passed away on April 20, 2022, after battling leukemia for almost three years. Though challenging, Luke remained positive and never gave up fighting the disease. In his mind, he won every time he overcame the obstacles thrown his direction to give him more time with his family.

Widening crack brings Keystone Bridge rehab to a stop

Central art students’ success lands them an exhibit at The Collective

Central student Lexi Loan placed first and third in drawing at the recent NEIHS art show at the Upper Iowa University campus. Art teacher Carlyn Lechtenberg said Loan has “real raw and natural talent,” which shows through in the “captivating and interesting pieces” she entered. (Submitted photos)

Kahlei Schmitt received honorable mention in drawing at the NEIHS art show. Central student artwork will be on display next at The Collective’s May 6 “First Friday” event.
