Elder Arlan Dyb, 89, of Eastman, passed away peacefully on March 19, after a short illness. 

He was born Jan. 29, 1929, in Mt Sterling, to Carl and Julia Runice Dyb, Elder lived his entire life in Crawford County.

Mary Pitzer

Mary Pitzer entered heavens gates on March 17.

Mary was born to William and Marie (Walter) Becwar on Dec. 28, 1936. Mary was married to Edward Pitzer in 1957, who God chose to add to his angels in 1962., and their son Todd joined him in 1963. Mary later married Jim Pitzer in 1966, who proceeded her in death on June 25, 2017 after 51 years of marriage. They spent many enjoyable days riding there Harley Davidson motorcycle and meeting many friends along the way.

Timothy G. Crady

Timothy G. Crady, 72, of Sparta, died Sunday, Feb. 18, at his home.

He was born on Dec. 1, 1945, to Herman and Audrey (Harwood) Crady, in Dubuque, Iowa. Tim grew up in the Prairie du Chien area. In 1963, at 17 years old, he enlisted in the US Navy where he joined on the buddy system with his older brother Paul and together they both served on the U.S.S. Lyman K. Swenson. Tim was honorably discharged Dec. 12, 1966. Following the service, Tim lived in Phoenix, Ariz., before moving back to southwestern Wisconsin in which he farmed tobacco and had an automotive recycling business. He worked at UW-La Crosse and at Ft. McCoy as a Boiler Tender until his retirement in 2002. Tim enjoyed playing cribbage, chess and sudoku.

Dorothea Dolores Horsfall

Dorothea D. Horsfall, 65, of Waukon, Iowa, died Thursday, March 15, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

Dorothea Dolores Horsfall was born Aug. 11, 1952, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the daughter of Donald Ray and Dolores Sophie (Christiansen) Harms. Her parents later divorced and she was raised by her mother and stepfather Leroy Wood. Dorothea grew up in Olin, Iowa, and in 1971, graduated from high school. She attended art school in Florida and then returned home to Olin, where she worked various secretarial and administrative jobs. In 1979, she moved to Lansing, IA, and met Paul Leland Horsfall, Jr.; the couple married on May 30, 1981, at the United Methodist Church in Lansing. Since then, Dorothea worked with Paul at their Horsfall’s Variety Store in Lansing.

Ken White

Ken White, 74, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., died Friday, March 16, at his home.

Ken was born on Nov. 19, 1943 in Prairie du Chien the son of Don and Lucile (Haville) White. He graduated from Prairie High school and also from Madison Business College. He lived in Prairie du Chien until the early 1960s, moving to Madison, Wis., for school.

Roger E. Latham

Roger E. Latham, 81, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, at home after a brief illness. 

He was born on Aug. 22, 1936, the son of Donald and Fern (Shaben) of Beetown. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1950, and served his country in the United States Navy as an Aviation Ordinanceman from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1957. On Jan. 11, 1960, he was united in marriage to the former Karen Wienkers in Kenosha. Roger and Karen started their family there while he worked at American Motors. Roger and Karen embarked on a new journey, moving to the Lancaster area in 1973. Roger owned and operated Latham Tire Service in Lancaster from 1976 until his retirement in 2000.

Geraldine L. (Gautsch) Moan

 

Geraldine L. (Gautsch) Moan, previously of Cliffwood Drive, in Prairie du Chien, passed away on March 8, at the Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa.

 

Geraldine is survived by her sons, Robert, of Prairie du Chien, and Terry (Nancy), of Tucson, Ariz.; sister Jeanette (David) Woodruff, La Crosse;  nieces Gayle and Vicki; and many other nephews and nieces in La Crosse.

Mike Johnson, of Oregon, Ill., formally of the Prairie du Chein area, passed away at his home in Illinois, March 7.

 

Mike is survived by his wife Linda; his grandchildren; a son Laren (Faith); a daughter Michelle; and three sisters Sue (Steve Ariss), Sandy (Keith Levake) and Diane Mason.

She was born May 27, 1932, in Grand Forks, N.D. Mary Jean graduated from High School in Grand Forks, N.D.
