Lester Lee Groth, 78, of Garber, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at his residence.

Visitation was Sunday, June 14, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood and before the services at the church on Monday.

Funeral services were Monday, June 15, at the former Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elkport, conducted by Pastor Roland Waterman.

Donald W. Welsh, 61, of Dubuque died June 10, 2020, at Manor Care in Dubuque.

A celebration of life will be held Aug. 8, beginning at 2 p.m. at Bootleggers in Millville.

Don was born May 20, 1959, at Xavier Hospital in Dubuque to Bill and Rose (Hunemuller) Welsh. He graduated from Guttenberg High School.

Mary “Edna” Cook

Mary “Edna” Cook, 92, of Guttenberg, passed away May 22, 2020 while residing at the Good Samaritan Society of Waukon.

A private service for family will be held on June 21st at 1:30 p.m. at Elkader East Side Cemetery.

Edna was born on July 5, 1927. She was the second oldest of four children. She grew up in Georgetown, SC and has a surviving sister, Barbara Jones, who still resides there.

Brian Charles Minger of Garber, died May 14, 2020.

Joint funeral service with his mother, Leila, who passed away in March, will be scheduled at a later date.

Brian was born on Jan. 22, 1949, on a farm near Millville. He was born during a snowstorm and was the second of seven children born to John Lowell Minger and Leila Blanche (Moser) Minger.

Public graveside service was Saturday, June 6, at the Garnavillo Community Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Gary Hatcher.

Funeral service were held Wednesday, June 3, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in McGregor, conducted by Rev. Andrew Preuss.

Burial was at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor.

Justin Schmitt, 38, of Waterloo, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Justin was born Dec. 21, 1981, in Manchester, the son of James and Wanetta (Schmitt) Sadewasser. He attended Guttenberg High School and was a lead cook for many different restaurants throughout the years.

Family will be holding a private graveside service with burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.

Joyce was born on Dec. 22, 1945, the daughter of Vernon and Martha (Gull) Horstman.

Daniel L. Westemeier

Daniel Leo Westemeier, 76, of Dubuque, died Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at the Unity Point Health-Finley Hospital in Dubuque.

Our dear husband, father, and grandfather deserves a beautiful tribute. However, in this unknown time with COVID-19 pandemic, having a public visitation is not possible. Please be with us in prayer. A celebration of Dan’s life will be held at a later date. 

Burial was in Linwood Cemetery in Dubuque.
