Library director Sandra Barron retires after 24 years

Blume makes CR wrestling history

In Jan. 5 at the varsity wrestling invitational held at Central Community School in Elkader, Michaela Blume, a sophomore at Clayton Ridge High School, made school history. 

Blume  is  the first female wrestler to win a tournament in her weight class in a male-dominated sport.

This year, Clayton Ridge Drill team members Brianna Miller, Emily Schaefers, Kaitlyn Kuehl-Berns and Grace Meier were invited to participate in the half-time show at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla.

The competition for an invitation to the Citrus bowl starts in July at the Marching Auxiliary summer dance camp.

Music has always been part of Steve Moser's life. He began playing the drums at the tender age of four, and he first stepped onto the stage with his father's band, The Sounds of Nashville, at age seven. 

Moser fondly remembers learning to play the guitar at his father's side.

The Guttenberg Rotary Club is planning its second annual Trivia Night. The event will again be held at the Guttenberg Golf and Country Club on Friday, Jan. 25. 

Doors will open at 5 p.m. with a buffet dinner starting at 6 p.m. The dinner buffet will include: fried chicken, pork loin, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, tossed side salad, dinner rolls,  cheese cake, coffee and water.
