MFL MarMac dancers find success at state competition

MFL MarMac's pom routine was set to 90s music, including the Spice Girls, Hanson and Vanilla Ice. The team also had some stunning new blue, pink and orange uniforms, courtesy of the MFL MarMac Booster Club.

Senior Kaylee Bachman received a Division I rating for a Class III solo performance. Set to a slower acoustic version of ABBA’s “Dancing Queen,” the routine brought tears to coach Kelli Saxe’s eyes.

Jim Young said this duffel in his possession once belonged to Staff Sgt. Archie R. Tucker, who he believes had ties to Clayton County.

A Texas man is hoping to reunite a World War II soldier’s duffel bag with family who may live in Clayton County.

Clayton County Cattlemen hold annual banquet

Gary and Barb Westhoff, Guttenberg, were presented the Clayton County Cattleman of the Year Award.

Steve Schilling was honored as Clayton County Friend of the Cattlemen.

Johnson’s Restaurant and Reception Hall received the Golden Steak Knife Award.

The Clayton County Cattlemen’s Banquet was held Nov. 20, at Johnson’s Reception Hall in Elkader. A meal was followed by a program and auction.

Bryce Radloff went 3-0 in duals last week and placed third in the 138-pound bracket at the Nashua-Plainfield Tournament.

Austin Schlee (170) earned MFL MarMac's sixth straight win in the dual versus Lancaster.

Gabe McGeough, who's now 12-1 this season, was the 152-pound champion at Saturday's Nashua-Plainfield Tournament.

Taylor Herzmann battled hard in his 182-pound match against Lancaster.

Jack Vorwald lost a close 4-0 decision in last week's dual with Lancaster.

Holden Mathis feels out his Lancaster opponent in the Dec. 9 dual. He eventually earned a fall at 132 pounds.
