A 39-year-old Readstown man has been charged in Crawford County Circuit Court with one count of possession of methamphetamine (repeater).
Jeremy Phinney faces up to a $10,000 fine and 3.5 years in prison if convicted.
According to the criminal complaint, on Aug. 20, at 1:20 a.m., two Crawford County Sheriff’s deputies approached a man who was near the Lions Shelter at the village park in Soldiers Grove. As they approached, the man immediately got on his cell phone.
As the deputies were speaking to the man, later identified as Phinney, he was sweating and appeared extremely nervous.
The Crawford County Law Enforcement Center confirmed that Phinney was on probation for narcotics convictions.
The deputies then performed a search and found a plastic baggie containing a large “chunk” of meth, the complaint said.
