Salvation Army Red Kettles bring In over $23,000

By Correne Martin

The numbers are in, and the Crawford County Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign collected $23,372 between Nov. 29 and Dec. 24, 2019. This met the organization’s goal and was up $415 over the previous year, according to Jen Kapinus, coordinator.

“This is great, as we lost a week of bell ringing due to Thanksgiving being a week late, we didn’t have as many bell ringers as usual, and I think there were fewer people in stores in general,” Kapinus said. “With one week to go, we were $13,000 short of our goal, but people came through and were very generous this year.”
