Volga man arrested in sex abuse investigation

The Fayette County and Clayton County sheriff’s offices have made an arrest on a joint, week-long sex abuse investigation. According to a press release, Charles Daniel Lockard, 61, of Volga, allegedly kidnapped a 13-year-old female for the purpose of sexually abusing her. 

 

Clayton County deputies filed sex abuse in the third degree, a class “C” felony, while Fayette County deputies arrested and charged Lockard with kidnapping in the first degree, a class “A” felony, and sexual abuse in the third degree, a class “C” felony. 

 

Lockard is currently at the Fayette County Jail being held on $100,000 cash bond. If convicted, Lockard could spend life in prison. This is an ongoing investigation and more charges could be filed.
