Patricia Mae Weaver, 86, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster.

She was born July 11, 1934, the daughter of Ralph and Sylvina (Field) Hyer. She graduated from Bloomington High School in 1952 and attended University of Wisconsin–Platteville. She met Glen C. Moore, and they were united in marriage at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa, on March 10, 1954. They settled on the family farm in rural Bloomington, where they raised five children, Glenda, David, Dale, Carol and Ronald. When Glen passed away in 1991, she moved to Bloomington, with her mother Sylvina. Pat met Ralph “Jake” Weaver, and they were married Oct. 25, 1997. They made their home in Bagley. In addition to farming and raising a family, Patricia worked as head cook at several establishments, where everyone loved her cooking. She also provided in-home care for many years. She loved spending her summers at the cabin in winter, and working at Ross’ Teal Lake Lodge. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the Homemakers group, cooking and collecting recipes, garage sales, camping, fishing, gardening, her pets, reading, tear-jerker movies, and road trips. Pat was known for her patience, gentle spirit, sense of humor and warm smile. She eagerly opened her arms and home to those in need.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Jake; her children, Glenda Eck, Dale (Michelle) Moore, Carol Giombi, Ron (Donna) Moore, Rick (Michelle) Fernandes, Patrick Kelly, John (Betty) Kelly, and Robin (Mike) Schroeder; daughter-in-law, Carol Moore; 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren with one on the way; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Ralph and Sylvina, and her loving husband, Glen, Patricia was preceded in death by a son, David; brother, Robert Hyer; great-grandson, Carter Matousek; son-in-law, Ken Eck; and sons, William Kelly and Manny Fernandes.

The family has chosen to schedule a celebration of Patricia’s life at a later date; details to follow. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home and Crematory, in Bloomington, is assisting the family.
