Joanne M. Clark
On Dec. 20, 2020, Joanne “Joannie” Marguerite (Spang) Clark was taken from us to receive her reward.
Per her wishes there will be no services.
Joanne was born June 28, 1951, in Oelwein to John and Marguerite Spang of Strawberry Point. She attended Strawberry Point school system and graduated from Starmont High School in 1969. “The fun class.”
Following high school graduation Joanne moved to Cedar Rapids and enrolled in fashion merchandising at Kirkwood Community College. She later worked at Killlian’s Department Store and then Square D Company.
On May 14, 1983, Joanne was united in marriage to Greg Clark at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union. Following her retirement from Square D, Joannie and Greg later moved to Guttenberg where she became a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Joannie had always loved the water and especially skiing with friends. And in Guttenberg she enjoyed many years of fishing and boating on the Mississippi River.
Joannie also owned and operated her own antique business which allowed her to fulfill her love of meeting new people and traveling to new places. She was also an avid Euchre player and was always very proud of her Irish ancestry.
Joanne is survived by her husband, Greg; brothers, John Spang of Cedar Rapids and Jeff Spang and son, Jack of Seaside, Calif.
Special people who have gone before her include her parents; grandmother, Caroline Coleman; sister-in-law, Leslie Spang; uncle, Richard “Tiny” Coleman and uncle, Robert Coleman.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guttenberg and the Garnavillo Public Library. “Health and Wellness to ALL”
