Teresa A. Jung, 80, passed away on Wednesday Dec. 2, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her family after a two-year battle with dementia.

She was born on Jan. 3, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of Joseph and Martha (Maguire) Whalen. Teresa attended Transfiguration of Our Lord School and graduated from West Catholic Girls High School in West Philadelphia. She married Robert Jung on Oct. 11, 1958, in Philadelphia. She raised her children as a military wife while her husband served 20 years in the U.S. Navy, enduring many moves and changes.

Teresa enjoyed bowling, traveling, and volunteering at the local food pantry. She was a past member of the Lions Club, serving as treasurer. She retired from Prairie City Bank after 25 years as a teller, loan processor, and receptionist. Most of all, she enjoyed and took great interest in her grandchildren.

Teresa is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert; her children, Terri (Rusty) Cooper, Bob (Lori) Jung, Becky (Steve) Henry, and Peter (Heather) Jung; brother, Frank (Gloria) Whalen; sisters, Barbara (Bud) Heisler, Julia Whalen, and Anna (Charles) Shirey; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Joseph Whalen; and a great-grandson, Dominic Reichmann

Graveside services will be held on Monday Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Cemetery in Prairie du Chien, with Monsignor Charles Stoetzel officiating.
