She was born on Aug. 12, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Walter and Mary Ann (Mickel) Trapp. Charlotte worked at the Tourist Information Center and the Villa Louis in Prairie du Chien for many years. She was a member of the hospital auxiliary for 50 years and an active member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church. She loved to garden, knit, and do crafts of all kinds.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Cyril W. Johnson, and is survived by his children, Lana L. (Robert) France and Larry L. Johnson, whom she raised as her own. Also surviving are granddaughters Kimberly S. (Patrick) McKeown and Lianne F. (Thomas) Herbruck, and seven great-grandchildren.

Her parents also preceded her in death as well as a brother, Walter Trapp, and three half-brothers, Roger Stahl, Daniel Stahl and Nicholas Stahl. She is survived by two sisters, Mary Phillips and Joan Couch; a brother, Eugene (Florisa) Trapp; a sister-in-law, Johnna Trapp; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Charlotte cherished each and every family member and her many friends. Out of safety concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no viewing. A graveside service will be held at the Bridgeport Cemetery on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Miranda Klosterboer officiating.
