Song S. Shaben, 71, of Prairie du Chien, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

She was born in South Korea on Nov. 12, 1948, the daughter of Namsin Choi and Gwisan Ji. Song received her general education in South Korea. In 1971, she moved to the United States. 

On Oct. 26, 1991, Song was united in marriage to Robert Shaben at St. John’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. She was employed for 28 years at 3M in Prairie du Chien. Song enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, knitting, painting and walking outdoors. She dearly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Survivors include her husband, Robert; her son, Harold (Stephanie) Waterman; four grandchildren, Anjela, James, Parker and Marshall Waterman; a sister, Sung Ae Choi; a brother, Sung Ho Choi; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Song was preceded in death by a brother, Sung Su Choi; and three grandchildren.

A Private Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, Oct. 31, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial was in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. There will be no public visitation.
