Dale Mork Anderson, 93, of Postville, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society in Postville. Dale was born Dec. 20, 1926, to Christ and Rosina (Mork) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at Marion Lutheran Church in Gunder. 

Dale attended the Vellersen School and graduated from Postville High School with the class of 1944.

On June 7, 1949, Dale was united in marriage with Virginia Oldag at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Postville, by the Rev. F. R. Ludwig. To this union two children were born, an infant son, Thomas Dale, and son, Douglas Dale. From 1955 to 1957, Dale served in the United States Army Intelligence Corps. After returning, Dale and Virginia farmed south of Postville until 1985, and then moved to Postville while continuing to join Doug working on the farm daily. For several years, Dale served on the church council and also taught Sunday school.

Surviving Dale are his son, Douglas Anderson; granddaughter, Lindsay (Hector) Salinas; and his brother, Arvid Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia; brothers, Kenneth, Myron, Rutherferd, Elver and Carlyle; sister, Bessie; and his infant son.

A public graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at the Postville Cemetery, Postville, with Rev. Lynn Noel as the officiant. There will be a one-hour visitation before the graveside service at the cemetery.

Due to COVID-19, everyone is asked to continue physical distancing and wear a mask if planning to attend. Please provide your own chair if one is needed.
