Vernon L. Wyatt, 65, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

He was born Aug. 10, 1955, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Rollie and Alice (Cluckey) Wyatt. He worked on a horse farm in Kentucky for many years before moving to Prairie du Chien, where he worked at Miniature Precision Components. He married Marie Whetzal on Sept. 2, 2005. Vernon was a good father and grandfather, and could best be described as a “jack of all trades.” He liked to sing, loved country music and was a fan of NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Marie; his children, Michelle, Kevin and Rosemary Starks, Alice (John) Ragan, and Jessica (David) Ragan; his five grandchildren; his step-children, Melissa Nelson and Michael Stonum; three step-grandchildren; and three great-step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his twin brothers, Rayburn and Richard Wyatt.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. The Garrity Funeral Home, of Prairie du Chien, is assisting the family.
