Darlene E. Mueller, 87, of Patch Grove, passed away on Thursday morning, Sept. 17, 2020, at her residence. 

She was born on June 5, 1933, in Marion Township, Grant County, the daughter of L.J. and Elizabeth (Bender) Freymiller. Darlene was united in marriage to Bernard Moravits on Sept. 9, 1953, until his untimely death on April 14, 1974. Darlene then married Paul Mueller on Dec. 28, 1975, until his death on April 11, 2000. Darlene was a devoted wife and mother. She always helped out around the farm with the daily chores along with being there for her children. She loved to work in her garden, growing flowers and planting cacti. She also enjoyed watching birds, especially hummingbirds. Darlene was an avid collector of dolls. Through her years collecting, she had established two doll museums. She also did doll repair for many. Her collection was simply amazing. She also liked to play cards and enjoyed sharing a cup of coffee with family and friends. Darlene was a member of the Wisconsin Women of Agriculture, the West Grant School Board and served as past president, The Farmers Union Milk Marketing Board, and volunteered at the area doll museums. 

Darlene is survived by her five children, Bernard “Tinker” (Kim) Moravits of Bloomington, Jeffrey “Cubby” (Jan) Moravits of Boscobel, Kris (Karen) Moravits of Prairie du Chien, Elizabeth (Hal) Ohlsen of River Falls, and Tim Moravits of Bloomington; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, Derry (Stacy) Moravits and their children Brett and Britney, Cory (Tracy) Moravits and their daughter Reese, Nicky (Jason) Drone and their children Sidney, Logan and Josey, Jackson (Destiny) Moravits and their daughter Everleigh, Thomas Moravits, Melissa (Andy) Klotz and their daughter Adriana, Megan (Gary) Awe, Amanda (Brandon) Trier and their son Cooper, Carrin (Matt) Brookshaw and their daughter Kenna, Hunter (Gina) Ohlsen, Hannah Ohlsen, and Holden Ohlsen; two sisters, Bernadine Wachter and Adelia Brechler both of Fennimore’ and two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Freymiller and Sherry (Art) Freymiller both of Fennimore; along with many nieces and nephews. 

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Bernard and Paul; siblings and their spouses, Harold (Estella) Freymiller, Edward (Ruby) Freymiller, Byron (Betty) Freymiller, Mark Freymiller, Mac (Eleanor) Freymiller, Gilda (Loren) Welsh, Lloyd “Tootie” Freymiller; and two brothers-in-law, Claude Brechler and Herman Wachter Jr. 

A public graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, at the Union-Nagel Cemetery in Patch Grove Township, Grant County. Please bring a lawn chair if you are planning to stay for services. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the gravesite on Saturday morning. The Larson Family Funeral Home, in Fennimore, is assisting the family.
