River Ridge hosts first home cross country meet
River Ridge High School held its first ever home cross country meet Tuesday afternoon at Wisconsin Badger Camp on a rainy, 48-degree day.
It was the second Ridge and Valley Conference meet of the season with runners from River Ridge, Wauzeka-Steuben, Shullsburg, Kickapoo-LaFarge, Belmont, DeSoto, and Cassville competing.
Wauzeka-Steuben won the boys meet with a team score of 30 points. Zach Martin was fourth in 20:37.3 to pace the Hornets. Isaac Reichmann was fifth in 20:49.3. Jonah Reichmann was sixth in 20:54.1. Reed Stenner was seventh in 20:58.4. Nate Martin was eighth in 21:10.8. Caydon Lomas was 11th in 23:13.5. Max Cooley was 13th in 23:33.0.
River Ridge took second with 46 points. Brad Hoffman won the meet with a time of 18:58.6 to lead the Timberwolves. Brett Kerscher was third in 20:03.3. Sam White was 10th in 21:48.1. Cahill Nichols was 14th in 23:42.2. Seth Breuer was 18th in 24:53.1. Brady Burmeister was 19th in 26.55.6. Xander Zach was 20th in 26:55.7.
Kickapoo-LaFarge won the girls meet with 15 points.
Wauzeka-Steuben was second with 45. Jayda Ralph finished seventh among complete team runners in 26:41.6 to lead the Lady Hornets. Lizzie Udelhoven was eighth in the team competition with 27:46.3. Regan Kramer was ninth in 29:33.9. Maureen Cooley was 10th in 30:04.2. Lily Mitchell was 11th in 30:54.0. Amelia Walz was 12th in 36:42.1. Grace Zinkle was 14th in 38:13.1.
River Ridge ran as an incomplete team. Jessica Patterson was the eighth overall individual in 24:14.3. Glenna Marshall was 17th in 28:47.1. Ruby Breuer was 22nd in 32:25.6. Alison West was 24th in 33:34.7.
