A student at the Prairie du Chien School District has tested positive for COVID-19, although he or she has not yet reported to school this year, according to a district letter from school nurse Ashley Burns.
District Administrator Andy Banasik said, at this time, he is unable to communicate whether the student is participating in the blended, virtual or five-day face-to-face educational setup. He said the letter was sent out in the district’s interest of being transparent with its families on COVID-19 information.
The letter was sent Friday afternoon, Sept. 4, along with information about COVID-19 symptoms and prevention methods.
The letter also stated that parents or guardians of children who may have had close contact with a student having COVID-19 would receive a separate letter with special instructions on how to monitor symptoms. Parents or guardians of children not coming into close contact with a student having COVID-19 would not receive a separate letter.
