Raymond Siegele, 90, of Marquette, Iowa, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020, at his home in Marquette, Iowa.

Ray was born on Oct. 9, 1929, the eldest son to Harry Elmer and Ann Marie (Carlson) Siegele in McGregor, Iowa. He graduated from McGregor High School. Ray served in the National Guard as a Drill Sergeant and later joined the United States Army. Ray was united in marriage with Joyce E. Bloyer. Two sons were born to this union. Throughout the years, Ray worked as a sheet metal fabricator, construction labor, as well as ran and operated a family Christmas tree farm business. Ray was a knowledge of wealth and experience. He loved to stay busy, helping family, friends and his community. Ray spent his childhood on a farm near Pikes Peak, McGregor, exploring the local hills. Later, Ray spent his time restoring Model T and Model A cars so he could drive them in local parades. Ray was an eccentric individual and he spent countless hours outside working with his hands. Ray also had the unique “gift of gab.” Whether you knew him personally or just met him, he would find something to chat about. He was a special individual with a unique personality that will be missed by all.

Surviving Ray are his wife, Joyce Siegele, of Marquette, Iowa; his two sons, Donald Keith (Patricia Ann) Siegele and Doug Calvin (Rebecca) Siegele; grandchildren, Jennifer, Hannah, Adam, Wyatt and Christian Joseph; four great-grandchildren, Lauren, Larissa, Xander and Aspyn; one brother, Robert Siegele; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ray in death were his parents, Harry and Ann Siegele; and his brother, Harold Siegele
