Shirley (Dickey) Beckel, 84, passed away peacefully at home in Rochester, Minn., on Wednesday, July 15. She was born June 16, 1936, in Prairie du Chien. 

Shirley is survived by all of her children, Debra (Raymond), Bruce (Lea), Jayne, Terry (DeAnn); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  

She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Bruce; her parents, Gerald and Katherine Dickey; brother, Bill (Barb) Dickey; brother-in-law, Alwyn Albright; her husband’s parents, Nellie and Frank Beckel; brother-in-law Stanley (Shirley) Beckel; and sister-in-law, Dorothy (Alvin) Petersen.   

A private mass will be held Friday, July 31, at St. Mary’s Church in McGregor, Iowa, with burial following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Mary’s Catholic Church remodel, P.O. Box 1521, McGregor, IA 52159.
