Robin Fisher

Kari Lenzendorf Kronberg

There are two Democrats running for Crawford County Clerk. The race will be decided in the Aug. 11 primary election. Chief Deputy County Clerk Robin Fisher and Eastman Town Clerk Kari Lenzendorf Kronberg are vying for the position. County Clerk Janet Geisler will be retiring.

The following are profiles and statements from the two candidates.

Robin Fisher

Hi, my name is Robin Fisher, and I am running for the office of Crawford County Clerk.

I live in the town of Bridgeport. My husband and I have been married for 29 years. Together we raised two daughters, both of whom attended school in Prairie du Chien, and graduated from Prairie High. Our oldest daughter, Chelsea, received her Associate’s Degree from Western Technical College in La Crosse. She is now living and working in northern Minnesota. Jordyn, our youngest, is 20 years old, and is currently a nursing student at Fox Valley Tech in Appleton. She also works part time as a CNA. My husband Mitch works at John Deere in Dubuque, Iowa, and has been employed there for the past 16 years. We are currently empty nesters, and love to go camping, motorcycle riding and spending time and traveling with family and friends.

I have been employed with Crawford County for 20 years. I initially was hired in 2000 as a Clerk III/Typist at Crawford County Human Services for the mental health unit. In 2008, I transferred into the County Clerk’s office as a Clerk III; and then in 2012, Janet appointed me as her Chief Deputy County Clerk. I have 12 years of experience specifically in the County Clerk’s office The last eight years, I have been working closely with Janet and training for the additional responsibilities of County Clerk, as she prepares for retirement. I am now ready to take on this responsibility full time. Throughout my employment with Crawford County, I have developed a genuine and respectable working relationship with all of the county employees, and I have earned the support and trust from past and present County Board members.

After 20 years of working in county government, I am ready to take this next logical step in my career, and would be proud to continue serving Crawford County as your new Clerk. I would appreciate your support and your vote at the Aug. 11 Partisan Primary. This election will determine your next County Clerk.  Thank you!

Kari Lenzendorf Kronberg

I am Kari Lenzendorf Kronberg, a lifelong resident of Crawford County. My parents are Jeff and Brenda Lenzendorf of Eastman. My grandparents are Bob and Violet Lenzendorf of Eastman and Paul and Judy Bebow of Prairie du Chien, so my roots run deep here. I have three daughters, Kaylie (8), Maddie (6), and Marlee (6). I grew up in Eastman, and currently reside in Prairie du Chien.

My career has been the perfect blend of finance, customer service, education, and municipal matters to tackle the challenge of being the County Clerk. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Hamline University. I have worked at Peoples State Bank for the past 10 years, the last six of those in the Operations Department as the Debit Card Manager. In 2017, I achieved the status of an AAP (Accredited ACH Professional), which is a national recognition for payments expertise. For the past three years, I have been the Clerk/Treasurer for the Town of Eastman, where I am responsible for all aspects of elections, payroll, bill payments, tax collections, meeting agendas, minutes, and reporting. In 2015, I completed the Dale Carnegie Leadership Training and was asked back in 2017 to assist the Leadership Training as the Course Coach for the next session in Prairie du Chien.

I currently serve on the Accountable Leadership Board of the United Methodist Churches of Prairie du Chien and Eastman. I am also the treasurer of the Futures Scholarship Board, which awards scholarships to seniors in the Prairie du Chien School District.

While change is often difficult, it is essential for personal growth and we need leaders who are willing to step up. I am grateful for the leadership Janet Geisler has given to the county for the past 24 years, and look to build on the example she has shown me in my work as Clerk for the town of Eastman. It is important to me that we use advanced and updated technology, as the new year will bring many new voting machines and processes to the county. I look forward to being a friendly and positive presence in the Clerk’s office.

All of this, plus my love for this community that has raised me, makes me the ideal candidate for Crawford County Clerk. I sincerely appreciate your vote in the Democratic Primary on Aug. 11.
