Prairie du Chien woman faces trespass, disorderly charges
The Crawford County District Attorney’s Office has brought four charges against a Prairie du Chien woman for entering a residence without permission on April 15.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Crawford County Circuit Court, Amanda Vick, 36, entered a residence at 32235 County Road K in Prairie du Chien Township—near her own residence—around 6 a.m. She did not have permission to enter the property and had no apparent prior connection to the residence, officers said.
The criminal complaint states that the homeowner was present at the time of the break-in, incurred unspecified injuries and received medical attention. Vick caused damage to a lamp, showerhead and shower door, among other personal items. She also caused herself several significant lacerations, which left blood stains on multiple surfaces inside the home, according to the complaint.
When officers responded, they found Vick still inside, in a bathroom, and demanded she exit the residence. She refused to comply and struggled with officers who attempted to detain her. The struggle resulted in damage to multiple law enforcement uniforms as well.
Authorities believe Vick was under the influence of methamphetamine and/or other controlled substances at the time of this incident.
Vick faces misdemeanor charges for criminal damage to property, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and resisting an officer. If convicted, she could receive up to $40,000 in fines, two and a half years in prison, or both.
