During the Crawford County Board meeting the morning of May 21, the board authorized a taxation district to waive the interest and penalties on property tax payment installments due on or after April 1, 2020.

County Treasurer Deanne Lutz said the resolution doesn’t mean anything to county residents now. It only takes effect when each individual municipality also passes it.

“If a municipality chooses not to pass the resolution, then the tax due date and interest and penalty are calculated the same as usual,” said Lutz.
