Sarah Lenzendorf has been named the valedictorian  and Kolton Chambers the salutatorian of the Seneca High School Class of 2020.

Sarah is the daughter of Don and Toni Lenzendorf, of Eastman. Through the first half of her senior year, she has achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.993. She plans to attend UW-River Falls for college this fall and major in business.

Sarah was awarded 2020 Ridge and Valley Academic All-Conference First Team recognition. She was named student of the month during four separate years, in 2008, 2011, 2015 and 2018. As a member of the National Honors Society, she’s participated in the Wisconsin Civic Games for three years.

Extra-curricularly, Sarah has had a busy high school career. She played volleyball for three years. She has been a member of the Future Farmers of America as well as the Future Business Leaders of America organizations since 2016. She’s enjoyed forensics in the past, even achieving a bronze in 2019. She also competed in wildlife judging last year, earning eighth place among her peers.

In addition, Sarah has been active in her community, serving as a member of the Life Guardians group since 2014. She was also part of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church’s youth group from 2012-2016.

Sarah has also devoted her spare time to working part-time as a bank teller at Peoples State Bank for almost two years, and has provided child care since middle school. She also worked at Lenzendorf Repair as a secretary for three summers, and was a youth advocate for the UW-Extension’s Community Health program.

Reflecting on her time at Seneca High, Sarah said she wanted to thank her family and the staff at school for their encouragement and support throughout her education.

Kolton is the son of Rob and Kayla Chambers, of Seneca. He has earned himself a 3.980 grade point average by this point in his senior year. He intends to take courses at UW-Stout this fall, with a major in computer engineering.

In academics, Kolton has received his academic letter each year and was named student of the month as a senior. He was also a 2020 Ridge and Valley Academic All-Conference First-Team selection. He’s been named a Seneca DAR Good Citizen recipient as well this year. For the past four years, Kolton has served as class president. He was a student representative for the annual school board listening session his freshman, sophomore and junior years. He worked as co-editor of the yearbook this year.

Additionally, Kolton was a National Honors Society inductee his sophomore year. Through NHS, he has helped with the semi-annual blood drive as a volunteer. He is active in SHARE (Students Helping Area Resistance Efforts) and has been since he was a freshman. He’s done forensics for four years, particularly play acting, in which he was a state silver medalist in 2017.

Kolton has also been involved with the FFA and band, through which he placed first in trumpet and trombone competition three years in a row. He was an honors band selection twice. For the past two years, he also spent time serving as a role model through the PALS (People Actively Linked with Students) mentoring program.

Athletically, Kolton played basketball and baseball all four years of high school, attaining honorable mention all-conference accolades in both. He has also run cross country since his sophomore year.

Kolton has also given back to the community by being a member of the Seneca Lions Club for four years, St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish, and the Seneca Community Club. He’s also volunteered to play taps for the American Legion, rang a bell at Christmas time for the Salvation Army, and helped the Seneca Educational Foundation with its golf fundraiser.

When he hasn’t been busy with school, he has worked at Stoney Point Flowers and spent time babysitting.

In appreciation for those who’ve uplifted him most, Kolton said he is thankful for his parents, family, teachers, coaches, and other staff members for their support.
