At a special meeting held on April 21, the Clayton Ridge Community School board approved dates for high school activities that were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The board tentatively set prom for July 10, the senior class trip to July 19-25 and commencement for July 26, pending the lifting of the State's COVID-19 restrictions.

The meeting was held electronically via Zoom. In attendance were Board President John Heying, Kathy Ihde, Mike Finnegan, Alicia Helle and Ellen Johnson; Superintendent Shane Wahls, Principal Laura Bilden, Dean of Students Wade Marlow and Board Secretary Dave Schlueter. Absent were board members Christine Aulwes and Jason Reimer.

Superintendent Wahls and Principal Bilden reported on state guidance regarding high school credits and graduation requirements. They both recommended that all seniors graduate as scheduled.

The board also approved the hiring of Margo Friedlein and Angela Williams for strategist positions to lead Professional Learning Communities. Collin Arndt was hired as the junior high football coach and junior high boys track coach. The board accepted the resignation of Michelle Fassbinder as co-director of the high school spring musical.

The board accepted a donation of land from Jane Siebrecht. A technology services agreement with Keystone Area Education Agency received board approval. — Taken from board minutes by Dave Schlueter; edited by Shelia Tomkins
