Lorenz defeats Robinson, at least 2 new faces on county board
By Ted Pennekamp
Incumbent Gari Lorenz defeated challenger Jeff Robinson 183-138 in the race for the District 14 Crawford County Board seat in the April 7 election.
The result is unofficial and a canvassing of votes will be held on April 16.
Lorenz versus Robinson was the only contested race for a county board supervisor seat.
Incumbents Geri Kozelka in District 1, Henry “Buzz” Esser in District 2, and Kersten “Rocky” Rocksvold in District 3 did not seek re-election.
Newcomer Linda Munson received 174 votes in running unopposed for the District 2 seat.
Newcomer Edward Hayes Hall received 120 votes in running unopposed for the District 3 seat. There were six scattered votes.
There was no official candidate for the District 1 seat. Incumbent Geri Kozelka received three write-in votes. If Kozelka, who did not seek re-election, does not accept the seat, someone will be appointed by County Board President Tom Cornford.
The county board is made up of 17 county board supervisors. All other incumbents ran unopposed.
All seats are for two-year terms.
