Ilene J. Wilkinson, 83, of Prairie du Chien, formerly of Mt. Hope, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien. 

She was born Jan 20, 1937, in De Soto, the daughter of Edwin and Fae (Marshall) Sletten. She graduated from Bloomington High School in 1955, and later married her husband of 61 years, Jerry Wilkinson, on Jan 17, 1959. Ilene became involved in her community early in life, starting a Girl Scout Troop at the age of 18. She was an active member of the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church and served as the Mt. Hope village treasurer for 30 years. Ilene also worked at Mt. Hope Restaurant and Fenmore Hills Hotel in Fennimore. She loved reading, antiquing and playing cards.

She is survived by her husband; her son, Kevin (Deb) Wilkinson; her daughter, Karen (Gary) Welter; her brother, Larry (Sally) Sletten; her sister, Bonnie Lockman; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Clair and Elf Sletten. 

Due to current health concerns, funeral services will be held privately with Pastor Cheryl Weaver officiating and burial in the Patch Grove Cemetery in Patch Grove. 

The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
