In the midst of the Coronavirus crisis is Tuesday’s spring general election.

State and local officials have been emphasizing, instead of going to the polls, voting by absentee ballot. Voters can request absentee ballots at myvote.wi.gov.

State election officials suggest requesting an absentee ballot by mail by Thursday so a returned ballot can be received by Tuesday.

Assuming the election is held as scheduled, polls will be open statewide from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Statewide races: The state Supreme Court race features incumbent Justice Daniel Kelly against Dane County Circuit Judge Jill Karofsky for a 10-year term on the court.

Court of Appeals District 4 Judge Rachel Graham is running for reelection. Gov. Tony Evers appointed Graham to her seat in June.

The Democratic presidential primary ballot will have 12 names, though most of them have suspended their campaigns —U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, former Rep. John Delaney of Maryland, former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, business owner Andrew Yang, former South Bend, Ind. mayor Pete Buttigieg, activist Tom Steyer, Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Sen. Michael Bennet of Colorado, former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, and former Vice President Joe Biden.

President Donald Trump is the only Republican on the ballot.

There will also be a statewide constitutional amendment referendum, known as “Marsy’s Law,” to give constitutional rights to victims of crimes.
