Joan R. Williams, 82, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020, at her residence. 

She was born on June 14, 1937, in La Crosse, the daughter of James and Eleanor (Crowley) Ingham.  Joan married James Williams from Harpers Ferry, Iowa, in 1979. He later passed in July of 2003. Joan loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with ferocity all her own. 

Joan is survived by her sons, Robert (Deborah), Craig, Brian and Jeff; a daughter, Lisa Krueger; brothers, Ronald and Randall Ingham; a sister, Candice Miller; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Gale Seymour of Ferryville, James Williams of Harpers Ferry; a son, Dennis; a son-in-law, Jay Krueger; brothers, Gene, Bernard and Jerome Ingham; a sister, Mary Lou Ackerman; and a sister-in-law, Grace Ingham. 

Out of respect and concern for public health and safety, a private family service will be held graveside at Calvary Cemetery in Prairie du Chien, with Monsignor Charles Stoetzel officiating. A celebration of Joan’s life will be announced at a future date. 

The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
