PdC-F gymnasts at sectional, O’Kane advances to State Meet
The Prairie du Chien-Fennimore gymnastics team competed in the sectional meet in Platteville on Saturday. The team put up its third best score of the season with a 112.800, good for fifth place at the meet.
Individually, Heaven Mahlstedt tied her season-best on vault with a 7.7, Madison Puckett scored her season-best on the floor with a 7.1, and Alyssa Schoepp got her season-best on the bars with a 7.325.
Senior Kylee O’Kane was the highlight of the night for PdC as she scored an 8.325 on the balance beam to earn a trip to the State Meet on Saturday, March 7 at the Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Fieldhouse. The 50th Annual State Gymnastics Individual Meet begins at 10:30 a.m.
In recognition of the 50th Anniversary, the State Meet will feature 50 years of memorabilia on display and a video exhibiting 50 years of gymnastics images and memories. In addition, multiple State Meet event champions, record-holders, and inductees in the high school gymnastics Hall of Fame are also invited to take part in the celebration. Other highlights of the celebration include a commemorative insert in the State Meet souvenir program, as well as giveaways for spectators attending the event.
