The Prairie du Chien Blackhawks started out fast and didn't look back in a record breaking win Tuesday night against Aquinas in the Prairie du Chien Fieldhouse. The Prairie du Chien boys hosted Aquinas in their 15th game of the year. The Hawks got out to a fast start against the Blugolds as they were able to consistently hit shots and play solid team defense. At the half, the Hawks boasted a 22-11 lead over the Blugolds. In the second half, Aquinas was able to stay within striking distance until the six-minute mark when they were forced to come out of their zone and play man to man. In the game, Josh Dyer was able to put down a career-high two ferocious dunks that both came from a steal in the backcourt while being pursued by defenders on both sides of him. The moment of the night, however, came from Mason Kramer as he was able to score his 1,000th varsity point while shooting a free throw late in the second half. Kramer is the first player coached under Andy Banasik to reach the milestone in Banasik’s 25+ years of coaching. Seven Hawks scored in the 50-29 win: Mason Kramer led with 22, Josh Dyer had 9, Ryan Thein had 7, Max Amundson had 5, Conner Smith had 4, Jonah Hornseth had 2, and Justice Olmstead finished with 1.PDC takes their 8-7 record to Richland Center, Thursday, Jan. 30, next for a big conference game as they try to keep pace with first-place River Valley.
