The Prairie du Chien Blackhawks beat the Platteville Hillmen 47-34 in a Friday night match-up of two familiar conference opponents to improve to 3-2 in the conference.

The Prairie du Chien boys hosted Platteville in the fifth conference match-up of the season. The Hawks got out to another slow start during the first half but relied on their defense to keep them in the game as they were down at half by a score of 13-12.

The second half was a foul-filled half as there were a combined 43 fouls called on both teams in the game. With shots not falling for both teams, the Hawks once again were able to close out the game at the free-throw line going 18-29 at the line while Platteville struggled, going 10-23 on free throws.

Six Hawks scored in the game: Mason Kramer led with 17, Ryan Thein had 12, Josh Dyer had 10, Max Amundson had 6, and Owen Oldenburg had one. Also, senior Brandon Hanger scored his first varsity point by banking in his second free throw.

The win improved the Hawks record to 7-6 on the season and kept them tied for second in the conference with a 3-2 conference record.
