A 51-year-old Boscobel woman has been charged in Crawford County Circuit Court with one count of second degree reckless injury in the shooting of her boyfriend in the village of Wauzeka.

Cheryl Lippitt faces up to a $25,000 fine and 12.5 years in prison if convicted.

According to the criminal complaint, on Dec. 24, 2019, Lippitt called the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department stating she shot Harold Schuh Jr. in a residence in Wauzeka.

Schuh told a deputy that he was shot in the right elbow and stomach. The deputy put some paper towel on the wound and placed pressure on it until the EMS arrived.

Schuh said that he and Lippitt had an argument that was verbal and physical on both of their parts. He said he was being pushed and hit and that he punched Lippitt in the face. During the altercation, Lippitt said that she wished Schuh was dead, according to testimony by Schuh in the criminal complaint.

Schuh told the deputy that he went and got his .45 caliber handgun and gave it to Lippitt and said to her that if that’s what she wanted, do it then. Schuh said Lippitt then shot him two times, according to the complaint.
