Central's Hannah Erickson had a big night against South Winn. She led the team in scoring with 19 points. She also had six rebounds and two steals.

The Central girls’ basketball team’s record now stands at 11-2 after two more victories last week. On January 7 the team defeated South Winn by a score of 59-19.

Hannah Erickson paced the Warriors in the scoring column with 19 points. Delaney Scherf had 11 points. Haley Frieden had nine points while Danielle Weber had six points. Riley Schroeder had two field goals for four points, and Abby Cummer made one out of two free throws to tally a point.

Hannah Erickson led the team with six rebounds. Haley Frieden and Danielle Weber each had five rebounds. Delaney Scherf had four rebounds.

“The rebounding category was about even on the night, and second-chance points were a non-factor for both teams as a result,” Coach Mark Wiley said.

Delaney Scherf had seven steals. Danielle Weber grabbed five steals. Riley Schroeder had four steals while Natalie Schroeder had three. Hannah Erickson had two steals. Haley Frieden had one steal for the Warriors.

“We were defensively active by causing South Winn to turn the basketball over 28 times,” Coach Wiley commented.

Delaney Scherf had four assists. Hannah Erickson had three assists and Natalie Schroeder and Danielle Weber each had one assist.

“We did not take care of the basketball as well as we need to and as a result we had a close game after the first quarter. We did a good job in the third quarter establishing an offense and finding open teammates for shots.

January 19 found the team facing West Central.  The Warriors won the game by a score of 59-36.
