Lawrence J. “Larry” Graap, 72, of Dodgeville and formerly of Prairie du Chien, passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at Upland Hills Hospital in Dodgeville. 

He was born Feb. 16, 1947, the son of Lawrence and Violet (Young) Graap. 

Larry worked as a linesman for General Telephone and later in technical support at GTE for over 35 years. He was a past member of the Lions Club and served as an alderman for the city of Dodgeville. Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as a good game of euchre. 

He is survived by his children, Adam (Rachel) Graap, Sara (Kayla) Graap and Cory Kurtz; his grandchildren, Stella and Henry; his brothers, Kevin Graap, Markus (Kathy) Graap, and Todd (Christine) Graap; his sisters, Laurita Gatrelle and Damaris Pintz. 

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Patricia Graap, and brothers-in-law Gary Gatrelle and Frank Pintz.

Funeral services were held graveside Friday, Nov. 1, at the Calvary Cemetery in Prairie du Chien, with Msgr. Charles Stoetzel officiating. A celebration of Larry’s life will also be held at Jeffrey’s in Dodgeville on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 1 to 6 p.m. 

The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
