The Prairie du Chien Street Department has scheduled its citywide fall cleanup.

Property owners on Blackhawk Avenue North will have pickup Monday, Oct. 14. Those on Blackhawk Avenue South, east of Marquette Road, will go on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Then, those on Blackhawk Avenue South, west of Marquette Road, will have items cleaned up Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Street crews will pick up brush, appliances and metal recyclables. Town and Country Sanitation will pick up all other remaining items on the following Saturday, Oct. 19. There will be no return trips. Please make sure to have items out on the appropriate day your location is scheduled for cleanup.

Here are a few additional tips:

No electronics will be accepted. These will be collected at the Crawford County Clean Sweep Oct. 25 (county highway shop).

Appliances, metal recyclables, brush, grass and trash must be kept separate.

Appliances must have doors and locks removed. Appliances must be curbside in front or in the alley to the rear of the residence.

Brush must be piled parallel to the curb or alley so it can be scooped up easily or it will not be taken.

Construction and remodeling material will not be picked up. It must be put in a dumpster.

Only latex paint cans will be accepted. They must have lids removed and any remaining paint must be dried out.

Glass must be removed and separated from other articles.

Tires must have their rims removed. Only car and light-duty truck tires, and a maximum of eight, will be accepted.

Used oil must be delivered by the property owner to the rear of the city street shop and properly disposed into the red 500-gallon used oil containment center.
