The Kickapoo River is expected to have minor flooding in Crawford County within the next few days, according to the National Weather Service in La Crosse.

The river at Soldiers Grove was at 8.63 feet on Sept. 19 and is predicted to reach 14.3 feet on Sept. 21. The river is then expected to recede rapidly. Minor flood stage at Soldiers Grove is 13 feet.

At Gays Mills, the river was at 9.06 feet on Sept. 19. It is predicted to reach 14.8 feet on Sept. 22. Minor flood stage at Gays Mills is 13 feet. Moderate flood stage is 15 feet. Following its crest, the river is expected to recede rather quickly.

At Steuben, the Kickapoo was at 9.28 feet on Sept. 19. It is predicted to reach 13.6 feet by Sept. 23 and then quickly go down. Minor flood stage at Steuben is 12 feet. Moderate flood stage is 13 feet.
