Linda L. Sheckler, 69, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, at Gundersen Healthcare in La Crosse. 

She was born Sept. 1, 1950, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Edwin and Luella (Gerardy) Hamann. 

She married James Sheckler on Sept. 21, 1968, in Prairie du Chien. Linda worked at Althof’s Television Center for 16 years. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially deer hunting and fishing.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James, of Prairie du Chien; her son, Jeffery, of Prairie du Chien; her brother, Edwin (Carol) Hamann, of Mukwonago; and two grandchildren Hunter and Haylee. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

According to Linda’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A celebration of Linda’s life is being planned for a future date. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
