Prairie School District to borrow $1.3 million
By Ted Pennekamp
At its regular meeting Monday night, the Prairie du Chien School Board approved of revenue borrowing in the amount of $1.3 million to cover operating expenses during the 2019-2020 school year. The borrowing will be repaid in June of 2020 and was done due to the timing of state, local and federal revenues that will be coming to the district later this school year.
In other business, the board accepted the resignation of Jason Thiry as Bluff View Intermediate School Dean of Students and as high school head football and wrestling coach.
The board approved of Cathleen Reed to be the interim Bluff View Dean of Students. Reed will also continue in her duties as the district’s director of special education.
Previously, the board had approved of Cory Koenig as the interim high school head football coach.
