Clay Hanson got a kick out of watching his whirligig spin during the Fridays at the Fort old time programming at Fort Crawford June 14. He attended the free weekly activity with his grandmother and other family, and all enjoyed making these whirligigs out of buttons and some string, thanks to direction from Madame Friday Wiles. Laura Sturmer (right) and her friends practiced changing a bed during last week’s Fridays at the Fort program, centered around the theme of Living on the Frontier. Just as their foremothers used to do, they removed straw from inside a sheet so the cloth could be washed.
