Vogt’s no-hitter leads RR girls over Benton-Shullsburg
River Ridge easily defeated visiting Benton-Shullsburg 11-1 in six innings Monday afternoon in high school softball action.
The Lady Timberwolves scored 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning, 2 in the second, 1 in the third, 2 in the fifth and 3 in the sixth en route to the victory.
Benton-Shullsburg scored their lone run in the top of the fifth inning.
River Ridge pounded out 11 hits and committed no errors in the contest.
Gracie Hamann went 3x5 with a pair of doubles for River Ridge. Kendall Esser was 3x4. Carly Hampton hit a triple.
Jordyn Vogt was on the hill for the Lady Timberwolves and picked up the victory. She hurled her first career no-hitter in mowing down 5 while walking 2 in six innings.
