On Tuesday, April 9, at approximately 3 p.m., the Prairie du Chien Police Department was notified of a vehicle that had been stolen from Fennimore. Officers located the vehicle in a parking lot in the 1600 block of South Marquette Road, Prairie du Chien, unoccupied. Further investigation led officers to a residence on North Main Street in Prairie du Chien.

Upon arrival at the residence, officers observed two men behind a house. As officers approached the men, one of them fled on foot. He jumped over a fence and started running south through neighboring yards. As an officer took one man into custody, another officer continued to pursue the fleeing suspect. After a short time, the Prairie du Chien K-9 Unit observed the suspect on foot near the intersection of North Main Street and Court Street. As the K-9 Unit approached, the suspect took off running again. K-9 Rico was deployed and, as the officer was giving commands to surrender, the suspect gave himself up and laid face down on the ground. The K-9 Unit waited with the suspect until an officer was able to assist with handcuffing.

The driver of the vehicle, Malik Noyes, 21, Madison, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and resisting or obstructing. Noyes also had a full extradition felony warrant through the Department of Corrections and is facing charges in Grant County.

The passenger, Franklin Hurley, 21, Boscobel, was arrested for riding in a vehicle without the owner’s consent and was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both Noyes and Hurley are being lodged in the Crawford County Jail.
