On April 8, a Crawford County deputy initiated a traffic stop on a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero driving south on Marquette Road in the city of Prairie du Chien.

The driver was identified as Danny Green, 55, Prairie du Chien. It was discovered that Green had a revoked driver’s license, and he was asked to exit the vehicle. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and drug paraphernalia was located within the vehicle. Furthermore, a container containing suspected heroin was located near where the driver was sitting.

Green displayed several prominent indicators of narcotics impairment and later failed field sobriety tests.

Green was placed under arrest and transported to the Crawford County Jail.

Possible charges include possession of drug paraphernalia, operating after revocation and operating a motor vehicle with a restricted controlled substance (fourth offense). Further charges may result after testing of the suspected heroin.

Assisting with the traffic stop were the Prairie du Chien Police Department, Milo’s Towing and Crossing Rivers Hospital.
